Had to order one online as local parts shop didn`t have the part and they are closing down from today.
So item arrived today and have fitted it in. Put it on a 20 min cycle and hey presto no fault code at the end of the cycle.
Upon closer inspection of the old heating element, the bottom part of the lower element had shorted.
So many thanks to Iadom for all his help in solving the problem 😆kparsfan

Done continuity and resistance tests.
Top Element:
Continuity – 047
Resistance – 47.3Lower Element:
Continuity – No Reading
Resistance – No ReadingSo I`m assuming that the whole heating element needs replaced. And like you said their is four elements for this type and had a look at the heating element and could find no part number on it. Know what it looks like. Will just have to go to nearest parts shop to try and get one.

Have a multimeter in the cupboard which I`ve very rarely used. Is it the continuity of the lower element that just needs to be checked.

Cheers Iadom. Sorry took so long to get back. Have had a look at the elements at the back. There is four elements. And had it on a high heat cycle and only the top two elements heat up. So could it be that I need to get a new heating element?

Not getting any steam now. I only got it when the first problem happened, the drum had stopped turning but the cycle was still heating. So the damp clothes were just lying in the drum being heated by the element. I`m just wondering if the steam has maybe caused some damaged.

When I thought it was working ok, went and put a load in and set the time . With about 10 mins remaining it pauses, their is a beep, F07 starts to flash on the LED and it carries on for the remaining 10 mins. Have checked on most websites as their isn`t supposed to be a fault code F07 for a Hotpoint. However some websites say that it may be a Lower Heater Element failure. When the trouble first stopped with the tumble dryer and the drum stopped moving, but the heat cycle was still carrying on, their was a lot of steam coming from inside the drum. Could this have effected the thermostat. I tried to reset the thermostat by putting a pin in the small hole in the thermostat. But I didn`t hear a click. Could it be that I have to replace the whole heating element?
