    is this one of those “you need to replace the whole motor so you’re better off buying a new wasing machine” type failure, or can the armature be replaced?

    i’d say it hums.
    with the lid off the washing machine i can physically see the motor trying to turn the drum.
    best way to describe it is like trying to pull away in a car in 2nd or even 3rd gear. it gets going, but looks like it struggles to get going.
    the motor starts to rotate the belt, but in tiny 1″ increments like a jolt/judder rather than a single flow. then it gets going like normal.

    silly question- whats the speed control module look like? i’m competent(ish) when it comes to pcbs so i’ll give it a go.
