Btw, I recently returned from holiday, if that had happened to the fridge whilst I was away, what’s the most likely thing to have happened? For one night nothing disastrous happened, but a week or more?
It was definitely not food, cleared it and pulled everything out in the kitchen. I don’t know what caused the burnt drip tray and box but was more wondering if just breathing that in ever could make you so ill. Feeling slightly less like death today so all good. Finding it tough to get rid of the stink though, might be a wipe down the walls job.
Thanks. I dunno if you’ve had much exposure to burnt fridges, and I guess you’re not a doctor, but ever since i’ve had headaches and nausea, it’s really wiped me out.
OK, think I’ve possibly found out what caused the smell (tho its still there despite fridge being in another room) There’s a cyclinder at the back below what I guess is a drip tray. That appears to have burnt inside overnight or I didn’t spot it yesterday. A box to the left of the cylinder also has signs of burning. As long as it’s unplugged is it safe? It’s a 20 year old Samsung SR 30RMB or SR30WD1xEU (that’s what it says on the outside).
Thanks. I guess the best thing is to move the fridge to another room to eliminate it as a source, as the smell is getting worse and spreading to other rooms. It’s not freezing properly anyway, it’s about 5 in the freezer and 12 in the fridge.
