Well not to sure what i have done but it is now working again. I stripped the bottom and then stripped down the heat pump checked the control module for any obvious signs of damage then put it all back together. Then de-greased the condensation/fill assembly thing on the left hand side.

Lets hope it keeps going!!!

Just done some more checks, the voltage at the heat pump when connected is only 24v but when disconnected the voltage rises to 120v. So it could be a short across the element as both cables read 24v when connected to the pump.

But surely the feed to the heater must be 230v?

Just re-check it with a calibrated Fluke from work and it is defo 18.5 ohms.
