ParticipantRe: help picking low budget machine
To be fair my old bosch was cheap I have just worked out the drum was only 4.5kg waa24160gb/01 and the only reason its leaking is either because I overloaded it or it was a really unbalanced load and the machine danced all round the kitchen and its shook the life out the machine and caused a leak that I can’t even find…not coming out the pipes or door seal so I can only assume the drum casing is cracked under the counter weights or a place I can’t get too. other than this the machine does actually work perfectly.
its been over 5 years and not a single issue with it.
its a month before xmas and I just don’t have the money to spash out on a 400 pound plus machine right now.
Not getting a beko its only a 1 year warranty and lesson learned from that is my last one year warranty machine lasted exactly 13 months to the day lol
Think I will go with the WAE24167GB for £250 and 2 year warranty
its bigger than my old machine same spin speed has a 15 min wash program that will come in handy ….all in all its feature packed when you look at my old machine in comparison.
Thanks for the advice guyslee786

ParticipantRe: Can’t get front of Bosch off for seal replacement
Right as it happens you don’t need to take the front off to replace the door seal ….local shop wasn’t convinced it was the door seal
so I re fitted the seal upside-down (with the drain holes at the top instead of the bottom) and got the same leak so its not the door seal.
all the pipes look fine and don’t appear to be leaking in any place
I have filled the machine with some water and tilted it forward
and the leak is dripping from the middle of the drum itselfonly place it come be really coming from is the element that I can’t get at because I can’t get the front casing off or the drum is cracked somewhere.
History.Machine was working fine and still is other than the leak.
the other night I put a load on that was either overloaded or badly balanced and the machine started banging like crazy as it was spinning and thats when the leak started.lee786
