    Re: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for your imput, the model is ICUNS 3013 20B/147 i’m back on the fault finding trail again !! just switched it on and here’s what i’ve found.

Run up and after 20-30 mins Compressor casing temp 53C Cond coil 33.6 and evap coil -21 it seemed that the compressor was running quite hot but there was good freezing to the evap coil I did part remove casing’s from evap to check sensor etc and test ran it this way. The freezer fan did not run at all i assume due to not reaching the correct temp but the compressor has stopped running after 45 mins and has just started up again after 10-15 min of being off.

Any ideas on what to do next, it is puzzling me as i want to solve it.

    Hi Tony R,

Many thanks for your imput on my problem, regarding the evap sensor you mention a service menu to compare resistance reading do you know what specific resistance i should be looking for with the sensor in relation to fan start up if that makes sense to you. I am an air con engineer and want to save my mum buying a part that is not required.

    Thanks for any advice.

Hi everyone, I am still hoping for a reply to my last post on what asks for the freezer fan to start is it the evapoator sensor? and if it is does it look likely that the pcb board is at fault if the sensor resistance readings increase as the evaporator temperature lowers.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Re: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013

Hi thanks for the reply, I have been testing it with the door closed to confirm that the freezer fan is operating also checked temperature with infared thermometer and multimeter to confirm that the power is going to the freezer fan. I tested the evap sensor with meter to check that there is a resistance change during freezer evap icing up and that seems to be working as it should, the only fault i can see is that the power being supplied to the fan motor is short lived and not constant even though the compressor is running for a long time. If the evap sensor is ok what sends the signal to ask for power to the freezer fan?

    Thank for any advice.

    Re: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013

    Hi everyone,
DOES THE EVAPORATOR SENSOR SEND A SIGNAL FOR FREEZER FAN TO START, THE FAN STARTED FOR A BRIEF TIME ONLY 10-15 SECONDS AND THEN STOPPED IVE HAD A METER CONNECTED TO THE FAN AND ALTHOUGH THE COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A LONG TIME WITH GOOD HEAT TRANSFER TO THE CONDENSOR COILS THERE HAS BEEN NO FURTHER POWER OFFERED TO THE FREEZER FAN EVEN THOUGH THE EVAP COIL IS FREEZING.

    THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

    Re: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013

Hi thanks for the advice, freezer fan did start running for a short time although it seems that the compressor will only run for a short period before shutting down. Evaporator pipes are freezing up on the coils and compressor is not excessively hot but the clixon is cutting in and out. Could it be short on GAS but i’m dubious as wouldn’t there be no freezing up on coils as its sat for quite a long time not working ie 3mths now.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Re: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013

Thanks for the reply, I used the magnetic contacts to bypass doors being open so there’s no door open alarm. how do i check that the board is not at fault, when the compressor starts should the fans not start running I have checked the fan connection block and there is no 240v power coming through the cable block that connects to the freezer compartment fan.
Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be.

    Thanks
