    Will pull it all out again tomorrow and have another check. The the brown wires to the heater (+ the earth) is not touching nowt, same goes for the pair of red wires going to the unit next to the heater.

    Trouble is now.. the washer now contains a fair bit of water inside – so will have to take it outside and drain it out somehow?

    aye, thats what I am thinking… ain’t touching it now until I got the time to have another look at it again and until I have further advice for those who been in the field for years.

    Did BTEC Electrical Engineering at College in the IT Industry a few years ago.. so do like to roll up sleeves and have a go as such.

    Of course I don’t have a Insulation Test Meter or technical tools at the moment. But now another option would be to descale the old heater and refit that one and see it happens to this one too.
