Jim- the previous owners of the house built the kitchen/utility extention in 1993 so if that’s when the 9526 was introduced they probably bought it then.

K- just the sort of inside knowledge it was hoping for.

Looks like I might just keep the Hotpoint.

BTW- with the hotpoint the hot water fill wont wash the powder or tablets from the tray properly- someone has “fixed” this by conecting both feeds to the cold mains which washes it though fine but then takes a while to warm up. Do you think this is a machine problem or just not enough pressure /head on the hot water?
