    Re: NEW WASHING MACHINE.

Just thought I’d add my two pennys worth to this as I bought the Bosch Exxcel8 a year ago and think it’s the bees knees, I absolutely love it 😀 Think I sometimes go overboard researching things like this but it was well worth the effort 😉 .

The instructions you get with it aren’t great (pants really) but play around with the buttons for half an hour and you soon twig – it’s not rocket science 🙂 I’d write a simpler user instruction but I wouldn’t know where/how to post it on the internet.

It’s certainly sufficient for a family of 4; and has certainly more than halved the number of washes I do in a week. My previous machines was a washer/dryer so because of the smaller drum, I was washing virtually every day.

I wouldn’t bother looking for a higher spin than 1400 because it just leaves clothes/bedding sooo creased up it’s that much harder to iron – believe me, I’ve learn’t the hard way. Fortunately you can reduce the spin cycle to whatever you want it.

I also like the option of being able to stop it to pop in the elusive item that managed to escape the basket; surprisingly it does have many useful settings for wash cycles. It even beeps intermittently at the end of a cycle for a time so you don’t forget about it.

No build-up of soap powder/scum underneath the draw (as with previous) and no nooks or cranny’s for mould/mildew to build up in there either – so easy to clean. Well worth the money spent. 😀

    Hi, Don

You’re a gem for getting back to me and we seem to be on the same wave length 😀 – I contacted Cannon today. The very nice lady I spoke to was going to check on it in their show room and will get back to me on Thursday (she’s off tomorrow and short staffed). But she describe how they are supported as you did. She also said Cannon has rebranded as ‘Cannon By Hotpoint’ and there’s no difference in the standard/quality between Cannon cookers and Hotpoint. So, I’m assuming the Hotpoint CH60DHKFS is built to the same standard and spec as Cannon CH60DHKFS and it’s just the various online sites who call them by either name in their listings.

Don’t know where I can actually see it for real but I did take a look at the all gas version in Currys CH60GCIS to get an idea and its as I imagined it would be like. So I’ve settled on the CH60DHKFS just need to buy it and get someone to fit it, then it’s off to the tip with the old Zanussi :rolls: . I tell you, it’s easier to buy a car than it is to buy a cooker, washer or mattress – at least you get to test drive a car before you buy 😀

    Thanks for all your help
    Lorraine

Re: Need advice choosing dual fuel fs cooker

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply it has been very useful

This is from review of Cannon C60DHWF Harrogate: Design of the main oven shelves is such that when baking a heavy cake, the shelf does not stay level, resulting in uneven cakes.

And yet this is from a review of Hotpoint CH60DHKFS Black Harrogate: CH60DHKFS is an efficient appliance with energy rating of B/B. Number of Burners: 4 Energy Rating: B/B Flame Failure Device NEW UPGRADED FEATURES In standby the appliance uses half a watt in power consumption The shelving has to be lifted to be removed as opposed to sliding straight out on the runners.

I very much liked the Cannon and was also my first choice of the 2 same as you suggested but see how this is so confusing. I’ve seen the shelving on the Cannon and understand the problem as there is no support for the back of the shelf in the main oven. I wondered if the Hotpoint have modified it in order to rectify this flaw. Don’t suppose you or anyone else on this sight would know, is Hotpoint’s an upgraded version of an older cannon model? There are so many slight variations of the same it’s hard to know which is the current
