Has Indesit responded yet!!! …….probably wont, as they will want the story to disappear.

from the look of it, the spider has (probably)corroded, due to the low 15 degree powders and washes being done, (no boil washes). But indesit would not confirm this as it would damage future sales.

I guarrantee it was a coincidence, not a bad choice of machine, hope you manage to do the bearings 😉 not one of the easiest machines to work on.

    @ Trilobite
AEG is a good Quality machine for the money, The bearings are not usually of substandard materials, The seal is the first part to fail, then lets in the water.
Just out of curiosity how many boil washes do you do!!!
Most engineers on this forum will tell you they have had to change a broken spider (drum support) because it has rotted through, because of the powder not disolving (over use of the 30/40 Quick wash buttons), then blaming the machine. all this build up perishes the edge of the seal letting in water, (as well as the usual overload).

Re: How long should bearings last?

If you wash once a day, that=365 per year x 3years =1095 washes. If you only washed once a week, it would have lasted 21.5 years, Because manufacturers cannot equate for individual users, eg load variations, mixed fabrics of light and heavy (towels, jeans….shirts tee shirts) wrong spin speed. it is difficult to produce a machine of quality, at a competitive price. If the machine is installed on a completely even surface, (concrete) and is used in accordance with the manufacturers loading conditions, weight, and spinspeed then it should last between 1000-1500 washes depending on which manufacturer, before components start to fail. usually the first component to fail are the brushes.
These are my own findings after being in the trade for 25 years. other comments are welcome.

    Re: CREDA T622CW no heat

When you have taken the screws out of the back. (plug removed)
you will see two thermostats located above the heater. remove the one with the spot (green/red/blue) this is the one that usually goes, although BOTH have to be replaced, When you have removed it, turn it upside down. there is a strip of metal covering the stat.. If this is concave (dipping in) then the stat has gone, if it is convex then the stat is fine. and means your problems lie elseware.
