Unfortunately been at work tonight so no cooking.
But my famous slow cooked baby back ribs will be coming out this week that’s for sure.
And no he didn’t charge me again. Result.
Thanks again to all who offered help. Forums like these are few and far between. Thank you.

Yes they went and same time and both share same power supply.
I recalled my electrician and he came back. When he pulled out oven and found it was a loose wire. I feel so stupid 🙁
Thanks everyone for all your help and advice. You have saved me going out and buying a new oven.

Hi Martin,
I have took advice and called oven engineer. He was saying the same as you and Mr Dill, it sounds like a local electrical fault.
I will not order any parts and await his diagnosis of fault.
Asked to recheck consumer board for trip and isolation switch. Which I did and its still not working.
Martin I thought I did answer questions? Which did I miss?
Thanks

DrDill wrote:Hi, you seem to be ignoring my posts, this will be my last bit of help for you, dont order a thermal cutout as this will not fix your oven and hob, please get an engineer out to correctly diagnose the fault with your oven and hob.

Check to see where the oven is plugged in to see if there is mains power to it.
You may have a hidden switch in one of your kitchen units that may have been turned off by accident.
This is the most likely fault as you have a problem with 2 appliances.
Or you may have a fuse blown in a mains isolation switch.
The oven you have is unlikely to be at fault.
But if it has a fault it would only be a thermal cut out.

Hi Bob,
Electrician came and check power to switch in cupboard, checked fuse and pulled oven out and confirmed there was power going to oven.
Mains consumer unit was also on and not tripped out.
Is a thermal cut out easy to fix? Do I need a electrician or cooker specialist?
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Maytag GS2625GEKB freezer stopped working.
Had a engineer round he says due to a power surge it’s blown the main motor (compressor) roughly £230 to fix.
I’m just talking to my house insurance to see if they will pay for it?

I can hear a buzzing sound, when I open door all I can hear is the fan.

Yes there’s power, the lights are still on inside.
Can’t say I have ever noticed the compresser as it’s such a quiet fridge freezer but I will listen out for it.

hi,
just to let you know i won a graded A sov2625 maytag full stainless from ebay for £801.99 delivered.
its coming next tuesday so i will let you know what it is like.
I know im taking a chance on a graded product but the saving was to good to resist.
the seller said it was around 6months old, comes with a 3 month warrenty and 7 days money back gaurentee.
Hopefully i have a bargain 😀
just out of curiosity what are the main things to go wrong with the maytag sov’s? and anyone know of a engineer/technician for the Leicester Area for future reference.
