I agree. Found a Bosch Classixx WVF 2402 used locally at a good price – how are these in general? Spares availability?

Unfortunately no room for both appliances and the Mrs insists we need the dryer. It turned out the brushes on the motor had worn out – I replaced them – restarted and unfortunately it seems one of the inlets to the drain pump was blocked and after a pop and spark in that general area it’s now completely dead ! If the drain pump motor failed would that stop the machine even switching on? (checked fuse this is ok)
thanks for the link re Washer dryers.

I decided to remove the pump cover and after taking out a load of coins started to suspect that may have caused the problem. No joy, wouldn’t do any program even a spin. I’ve long suspected the control board (it will only run program 8 initially then if you’re quick you can run and program after 8 has run its course – my wife has put up with this for a year !)
Anyway I removed the control board connectors and reconnected and heh presto it’s working again !
Still it’s clearly on it’s last legs and given it’s lasted 8 years with ZERO repair costs (even the belts original although i’ve put it back on numerous times) I think it would make sense to look at alternatives still. -
