ParticipantRe: Lamona HJA8631 not draining
Hi,
Just managed to fix my Lamona HJA 8631 integrated dishwasher which had suddenly stopped draining; following wash cycle lots dirty water left in bottom of machine. Checked filters but they were clean of debris. Would not drain when tried the tip seen here and elsewhere to press Start/Pause button 3 secs so light is flashing, to activate a quick drain. Just heard a faint humming noise.
Basically first removed dirty water from bottom of machine. Then had to remove the skirting board bit at bottom, then the metal kickplate, then turn off power at mains, disconnect wires from pump and then remove pump. Have to turn pump hard anti clockwise a 1/4 of a turn to remove pump. Dont be afraid to give it a bit of welly !
Water will spill out of dishwasher then so you meed to mop it up and make sure all dry inside. Managed to extract a bit of plant matter from pump (by getting a finger in and making sure nothing in there) possibly a bit of grape vine, probably the culprit.
Put pump back in reverse order of how it was taken off i.e. Clockwise. Make sure wires are pushed back into same connectors taken out from. Replace metal kickplate and skirting board then (and only then) turn back on at mains.I ran a quick wash to test (economy wash) and it worked perfectly. Such a relief, and the missus is delighted ! Have now just run it on 70degree program, full load, and all is well , all is sparkling 8)
Hope this can help someone with the same problem.
🙂 Remember to always work safe, disconnect from mains before undergoing works. 🙂
