Yes, I think that’s well known lol 😀
Aren’t they obliged to offer the warranty provided by the manufacturer though? Are you saying they will try to sell a 5 year extended warranty when Miele Ireland provide one as standard? :eeek:
Some other stuff that is bothering me:
– Why are there no Miele washing machines on http://www.currys.ie? But plenty on http://www.currys.co.uk?
– Why is the W1914 (lowest priced 7kg machine) not listed on Miele Ireland’s site (http://www.miele.ie)? But is on http://www.miele.co.uk?December 19, 2011 at 11:57 am in reply to: Looking for a quality machine, problems with Miele/ISE :( #365397madgav

Well the official line from Miele Ireland is that their 6kg machines come with a 2 year warranty and their 7kg and 8kg machines come with a 5 year warranty.
This covering all of Ireland north & south.
No 10 year warranties this side of the Irish Sea apparently 👿Obviously Currys haven’t heard this as they said Miele machines come with a 12 month ( :rolls: ) manufacturer warranty but that at time of purchase the sales person in-store would ‘offer’ an extended warranty :rolls:
This after consulting with Miele UK :rolls:
So Miele Ireland apparently telling a different story from Miele UK….Why the difference in warranties between UK & Ireland that’s what I want to know 🙁
Even mid range manufacturers offer a 5 year warranty on some of their machines (and they’d be cheaper to repair out of warranty than a Miele).December 15, 2011 at 7:53 am in reply to: Looking for a quality machine, problems with Miele/ISE :( #365396madgav

Yea I’m all too aware of crazy shipping charges for anything that can’t come Royal Mail 🙁
A pallet from mainland to here costs about £100 as I’ve had a couple delivered in the not too distant past. Thanks for taking the time to reply to this old thread 😉

Hi K
Thanks for the quick reply.
Don’t want to labour the point but just wondering what the problem is?
If shipping was say £100 rather than the £50 quoted on the website wouldn’t that be acceptable for a properly built machine with a 10 year warranty?
Or is the problem with maintenance? Can’t that be delegated to local repairmen?Miele have also effectively ruled themselves out of my deliberations as their 10 year warranty doesn’t apply here and their out of warranty repair charges are reported to be horrific.
So with the two top quality brands ruled out I am at a loss as to how I can buy a quality washing machine :rolls:
It’s all rather frustrating.Would you care to suggest what brand might be in 3rd place? 😕 Siemens perhaps?
All the best 🙂

Hi K,
I know this is an old thread, but what was the conclusion to this? We are currently in the market for a new washer and would prefer to spend a bit extra for something long lasting, preferably with a 10 yr warranty.
I’ve read that miele’s 10 yr warranty excludes NI, what the *****??? If that’s true they won’t be getting any of my cash :rolls: .
So what about ISE? 😉
Thanks
