Checked out the motor…
brushes, tacho and windings continuity all OK (loads of meat left on the brushes and it’s about 10 years old)
Removed the controller PCB and found copper pad around one of the relays had burnt away (probably as a result of a dry joint)
Reflowed the joint…put it all back together…
Same error C9…to clear this I put the machine into the diagnostic mode described elsewhere in this forum them then switched it out again….
Code cleared and machine back to normal….wife happy once more!!
