Re: Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 708

    Hi Penguin45 and Bigsmokepiker

Machine still appears to be working find. Stops every time I open lid. Starts every time.

Not convinced that the problem is fixed.

    Still not shore about diagnostics

When I select Hold “No lights”
When i select Slow “No lights”

But the next few selection Slow / Med I get lights

Thank Bigsmokepiker for your help and input

The lid reed switch assembly was replaced on the 17/2/04 by a mechanic

I have metered the switch many times and has not failed yet

Can I temporally bypass the lid switch to rule out it as a problem??

The “brake ” problem has only happened once.

Having said that, the machine hasn’t failed for a while.

I can now get into the diagnostics:-

Proceed as per phase 1 + 2 machines, after the two beeps, do not press “Advance” – proceed to the “Spin” buttons.”

What do I do with the Spin buttons??

There are led’s lite on some positions in the spin buttons.

Which of the hold slow med fast and “combinations of” do you want?

    Thanks again Mark

Re: Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 708

The buttons that will make it work are:-

    press favorite
press advance 4 to 5 times

This will work 1 in 10 times

I can not get into fault code thing (your sticky post) to work

therfore I can’t give you the fault code

Re: Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 708

    Found The Fault!!!

In the touch panel board behind the power switch there was some liquid that had corroded the power switch solder joints. (Dry joint)
    Re-soldered the switch and
    Hey presto it worked!

(The power switch did work. ???? But electronics is a fickle thing)

    Thanks Penguin 45

    Further to botton pushing episode.

If I push power or start/pause then the previously posted lights come on

If I push favourite then I get a different sound and is ready to wash, but when I them push the start/pause button to start washing then it turns off.

    Hope this info helps

    Thanks for your honesty Penguin45

Could I be in the programing mode for Favouite wash??
(I dont have the user guide anymore to see how to program)

After pushing lots of buttons it finally worked but only for 1 wash.
Now back to pushing lots of buttons to make it work again.
    This time slowly.
Hope to report back which buttons make it work

    Thanks Mark
