    I have rechecked the heater element and it is working OK – the problem seems to be a thermostat switch that is wired in series with the heater element.

    The thermostat is permanently open preventing the return supply from the heater reaching ground – hence the heater not working.

    The thermostat is an ELTH 10 (3) 250 ~ T175K can a replacement be easily obtained?
