ParticipantRe: New Dishwasher from Howdens – confused by salt
I would recomend Finish, should see an improvement. The water level in the salt chamber will never go down so dont worry about that, just replace the salt when indicated.

Quickfix:
Remove sump filter and gauze, towards rear right in sump there is a hole about the size of a 2p. There may or may not be a rubber flap covering it. Check to see if flap is bunged up with grease and stuck closed, but also you need to poke something up throgh the hole to clear any grease in the tube. I normally use a piece or rubber hose pushed in about 10 inches give a a good wiggle whilst also blowing up it and as you draw it back out you should see all the crud comeing back into sump. That sould be it unless it is realy badly blocked in which case you will probably need to remove and replace the air break on the right hand side because it will be bunged up, so try first method and see how you get on normally cures it for me.martinm
