Many thanks for prompt reply. Hopefully I will be able to work another five years or so and am wondering what are the advantages of buying the ISE10 over the ISE23. Performance, load and running costs all interest me but am less concerned about getting a machine that might outlive me!
Found the article on larger machines a real eye-opener – am telling all my fellow landladies about your website.

I’m asking the same question, though have a slightly larger budget. I do a lot of washing and my current Bosch is now very noisy on spin which my engineer tells me is because it was made in Spain and the casing is less robust than the German ones. The machine itself has no faults but is now unacceptably noisy and jumps all over the place in a way I’ve never experienced with a Bosch before – this is my third.
Bosch headquarters in Milton Keynes say it isn’t possible to identify where a machine is made before purchasing it so am considering the ISE to avoid this problem.
Any comments much appreciated – MaryD
