Re: Fisher & Paykel 701 fails at spin, displays short wa

    Thanks for the extra info.

This error doesn’t make sense to me – I must be using the wrong logic 🙂
Is the fault likely to be in the control module or the display module?

I have used the machine for about 10 loads limping it through the sequence. It only faults during the pump out phase of the cycles. Pumping out for a while then stopping, pumping out then stopping, few cycles then going to error (consistently error code 8 00001000) . I can step it through to any wash stage (wash/rinse/final rinse/spin) and it is fine as long as I have pumped out through the diagnostic override first.

There is signs of burnt out resistors in the high voltage area in the control module (can’t identify cause) so I guess I’ll replace the control module (and the pump given its age) and hope that it isn’t going to just blow again.

    Cheers

I have run the diagnostic mode. The last error code is 8 i.e. only light on is the furthest right of the 5 wash lights (“short wash”).

    00001000

    What does this code mean?

Re: Fisher & Paykel 701 fails at spin, displays short wa

    G’day Alexa,

    Thanks for your help

    My email is matthew.stocks@originenergy.com.au.

When in daignistic mode the fill level buttons appear to have a function (the low and medium level lights toggle on and off) but I do not know what it is. The water level toggles the valves, regular wash toggles the pumps and the lid open/out of balance switches. Is there anything to check the water level? Any other checks that can be made from diagnostic mode?

    Cheers

Re: Fisher & Paykel 701 fails at spin, displays short wa

Thanks for the info about the F&P’s in the forums.

The machine (GW701) faults to the 2min “short wash” not the four or six as per earlier email. What does this mean?

I have put the machine in diagnostic mode (hold down low temp and power on) All lights display and then only the spin light comes on. I can toggle on the hot and cold fill valves and the pump. The machine seems to pump out fine in diagnostic mode (can pump out completely) but is not completely pumping out in the rinse and spin cycles. Any ideas where to go next?
