Thanks for this top tip – I have taken the front door off and control panel (I see what you mean about Wilkinson Sword) and basically had a ‘wiggle’ at all the connections. The machine now powers up OK and I have done one wash cycle on it with no problems.

Does the diagphram switch in the water collection point switch off the power to the machine in the event of a potential flood – I am a bit concerned about the potential depth of the water should something similar occur again!
