ParticipantOK, well we bit the bullet and bought one anyway.
Going off the Bosch name it’s a similar price to other brands.Seems OK.

ParticipantRe: Which one is better ?
HI, comet are currently doing the BOSCH WAE24162 for £249 and er indoors is very tempted.
Does anyone know where they are made? Germany or Spain?
I could not find any info on it to say where it was made (I though it is a legal requirement to state the country of manufacture?).
If it turns out that it is made in spain, are the spanish ones any good? do they live up to the Bosch name?
Does anyone know of any common faults etc on this model?Cheers,
Mattymattylad
ParticipantNever mind.
It’s been scrapped & replaced with a Bosch.mattylad
Participantah, now I’m seeing it better.
Oh yes, there is some lateral movement, approx 1mm movement.
And inside it’s full of soap powder and water.
Thank you for your assistance, I shall now try & source a cheap replacement (I only need it to last a few months till I have finished DIY’ing the bathroom and then its a bosch/miele for me).

ParticipantOK, but how would I be able to prove that?
I don’t want to replace it without testing it first.
Are the pumps 240v?
Perhaps I should put my meter on the pump leads & log it to see if it’s getting it’s voltage when it should.
What really puzzles me is why is it that it sometimes works & sometimes does not, if play around turning the controller knob round it will eventually drain?
Matthew.

ParticipantCompletely unprofessional & owning a dishwasher for a whole 2 days so knowing little about them but just thinking a bit….
Could the outlet pipe perhaps be kinked or blocked preventing it emptying?
Could the filters be clogged preventing water getting to the outlet?
Could the pump be stuck/clogged?
Have you looked at them baba?
Do you have a 4 minute wash cycle setting? lol

ParticipantOk Martin, but before I spend on a complete assembly, can you advise me when the bottom heater element should be heating up?
It never seemed to heat, even when the thermostat is (temporarily & with fire extinguisher on standby) bypassed ?
Yes the thermostat keeps tripping out but I’d like to be able to ensure that the bottom heater element should also be working on high heat settings.
OR would that be something that happens a long while into the program?P.S. does that store price include VAT?

ParticipantRe: Hoover tv630 timer wiring
Oh dear now trying a load in it, it would appear that the filter care light does come on, although not all the time & intermittently ?
Which part in the heater assy would be faulty for that to happen?
I’m having to assume that it’s the thermostat as the fuse is fine, which if that’s the case is a £35 fix because a thermostat on is own (I assume) is not available.
cheers.

ParticipantRe: Hoover TV timer wiring
As the original poster appears to have been sorted, can I ask what the wires that go to the heater are ?
I.E. what each colour is?My wife is complaining of the unit not heating up enough since we moved into this house (why does it take her a year to say so?), yet on testing both the thermal fuse and the thermostat both read nigh on short circuit, the top 1/2 of the heater looks to come on (how do I get the bottom 1/2 on?).
In order to investigate further I’d like to know what colour wire is what?
I’m an electronic engineer & the fixing of this is no problem to me, I’d just prefer to know what I’m looking at though.
P.S. it would appear to be the newer heater assy with the black type 281 140C thermostat and the filter care light is not coming on.
I have mentioned to her that the heat setting switch was pushed in but she says she has tried changing the setting for that. Also – Is a wiring diagram available anywhere for this?
Cheers,
Mattylad.EDIT: It appears that
- Black is live in (S/C to plug top live pin)
Yellow appears to be a fuse detection line& reads 1.02 ohms to the Black.
Red is the top heater switched negative (49 ohms to Black)
White is the bottom heater switched negative (49 ohms to Black)Any suggestions on what to look for next?
