We can make the manufacturers change this policy of cutting costs in production by not buying their machines in the first place, if they seem to have recurring problems. I renewed all my kitchen appliances at the same time 2 years ago, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, combination microwave, tumble dryer all Bosch and against my better judgement I bought a Hotpoint WMA 63 washer. I have had no problems with my Bosch appliances as you would expect after 2 years but have spent nearly £60 on nine drum lifters for my washer. Hotpoint do not seem to care when you tell them that you will not be buying any of their products again. If enough dissatisfied customers do the same, however, they will take notice. It would be interesting to know, exactly how many people have problems with drum lifters. I intend to write to watchdog about this.
