OK, so today I quit the 3 in 1 tabs and filled my old machine up with nearly 2kg salt and rinse aid. It seemed to work much better this time. The regeneration cycle that nomadPaul mentioned was quite quick this time and the cycle continued until the end. No F error codes, no water left in the sump at the end of cycle (that was pumped out in the last 1 minute).
Have I come accross the problem perhaps?

Hello NomadPaul
Thats an interesting observation because the last four months I have not been filling up the salt container and have been running with these 3 in 1 tablets. Could it be that this has something to do with the problems?

Thanks for the advice Greg,
I have called the Siemens boys out who will come back to me when they have time ;>)
Unfortunately I am so curious that I made some more observations…
I watched the cycle once more and noticed that between the first wash (54 minutes) and the first rinse (44 minutes) 10 minutes elapsed. This was due to the pump out cycle that seemed to pump out the waste water. After the first pump out, more water was let into the sump and the pump started pumping out simultaneously.. This nonsense went on for the full 10 minutes until eventually the sump was full and the next cycle started.
Oh well, I’ll wait anyhow for the Siemens specialists but am anyhow curious about how the pump / fill process works, so if anybody knows, let me know!
Thanks, meister..

Thanks K,
I think you have frightened me enough to change back to the old fashoned method….

Today I replaced the complete water fill level switch. The unit with the integrated overflow red float and the diaphram pressure switch. I ran a cycle and thought the machine was cured.
Then I watched more closely for the second wash and saw the following on a 55 degree economy cycle…
The cycle is stated as:
1. clean 55 deg.
2. first rinse
3. last rinse 65 deg.
4. dry.All was going well and then I noticed at the 12 minute mark, the machine drained (the water matrix was empty), then the water matrix slowly filled and after that the machine itself and at the 8 minute mark the error F appeared again. After a minute it turned to 7 and seemed to continue the cycle.
Out of curiosity, I opened the door and the machine was full of water. (I thought it should have been in the drying phase. The last 7 minutes went, the water got pumped out and the display showed 0. I opened the machine and the base of the machine was still wet and rather steamy (which makes sense if it tries to dry whilst full of water).
I really don’t no what next to do. The controller was replaced about 12 months ago and now I don’t know what else I could do…
Any ideas from anyone with similar experience??

Hi Greg,
I’ll take a look at the hose as you say. In fact I checked it from the left side wall (one end so to say) and it looked quite clean.
What I do not understand is when the last error F was displayed, the sump was already pumped out and the waste water pump was hesitatingly pumping, stopping etc…
Is it the water fill regulator switch which controls the waste water pump or some other input device?
Thanks,
