Re: hoover nextra hnf3147 spin problems

well i have finally come to the conclusion the machine is possessed! sometimes it will rinse only the once, sometimes twice, sometimes after first rinse it only pumps out water for 2 secs then goes onto try and spin. time to bite bullet and buy a new one i reckon 🙁

well under further examination i realised that it wasnt going on to the rinse cycle either. as machine is spinning up at end of wash cycle it cuts out and does the drain spin etc. when switching off and selecting rinse cycle it goes on and then goes onto the drain then spin but same happens when it gets to the end of the spin cycle. i found a two pence piece in the rubber hose between drum and pump and noticed a dent on the inner drum, obviously caused by the coin. does it look like the drum is faulty and going out of balance as its whenever it tries to get to a high spin it cuts out and restarts that cycle?

it managed to a 600 spin empty right to the end a couple of times but now it is back to just starting to turn then machine cuts out and tries again. does this for as long as you leave it. is there a way to test the motor?

hi electrofix. it started to refuse point blank to spin, it would kick in and turn an 1/8th then stop. i took the motor out and had a look at the brushes and plenty length on them. i gave them a blow out and cleaned the comm and put back together and its now spinning again but back to the cutting out and restarting, the speed builds up then it switches off, all lights go out then it comes back on with a clunk and starts the cycle over again. this will go on all day if left. doesnt matter if a load in or not. could it be the mechanical timer or is the motor kaput?
