Yes I am still here 🙂 I have started slowing down now just part time in the shop 🙂
Those do have a tub which splits but the bearings are already pressed into the back half cost of that is about £140!Bosch have their own factories scattered all across Europe and Russia. Those particular machines are made in their Polish factory.
If you come across bar codes on their appliances I would be very surprised. For your info codes starting 40-44 are German origin.
DonThanks Don, much appreciated.
Ive gone for the WAN28201GB. Ill let you know about the barcode.
It seems like it is tougher to determine which models are made in german factories these days, so ive just taken a punt.

Machines are now even more energy efficient by way of water and electricity reductions but the flip side is programmes are longer than before. Most manufacturers combat this by giving a “quick” wash on a reduced capacity of around 3 kg of lightly soiled clothing.
As for machines themselves over 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} have the sealed tub which if the bearings do fail it means the machine is a right off, not the best idea when it comes to not being able to repair and means more machines to recycling. Miele are one of the very few where a full repair can be carried out although this can come at a cost!! That said Miele often offer promotional warranties on selected appliances from time to time. While the build quality is not like it used to be they are still the best around.
Myself I still like Bosch ( our 10 year old classixx 6kg 1200 is still going strong) they still come with the usual two year warranty. Beko and Hotpoint are reasonable machines where spares and service is readily available at reasonable prices.
DonMuch appreciated Don…looking back at my old posts, you were the same person that helped me out way back then with my first purchase! 🙂
Due to successful past experiences I think Ill be going for a Bosch again. How are these for sealed tubs?
Also is there any resource to find out which models are made in Germany?

ParticipantIve seen ‘new’ brands enter the machine market such as Samsung and LG…they seem popular… but would of thought they be better for Tvs that washers! 😀

ParticipantRe: BOSCH WAE24363GB Washing Machine – Any way to extend pip
Id like to think there is enough pipe and lead.
The washing machine and our current tumble drier sis side by side. the outlet/inlet and plug socket are all under meter away from current washing machine location. Hopefully switching the machines around will still leave me with enough pipe and cabling. 🙂

You need to pull the machine out, remove the mains plug and test the thermostats with a suitable megger or multimeter. It is foolish just to order a load of parts without doing this.
The heating element and the front stat are less prone to failure.
The float switch will keep the water light on and the heater off if it is faulty, stuck or if the float chamber is gunged up inside.
Access to the float chamber and switch is very difficult to say the least.
Thats why i thought it may not be anything to do with the thermostats.
Do you have any idea where the float chamber and switch are, any diagrams or description you could give me?

looking at espares, apparently there are a few thermostats in the machine.
two that fit in the rear and one for the front. Any idea if i should replace both? or will it be only one in particular?
ive done a bit more googling and some say that it can also me the timer thats the problem.

Does the Empty Water help diagnose the problem to a specific part thtat needs replacing?
Only reason i ask is that it will take big effort to take the dryer out of its position as I have to take out the washing machine too to get it out of its spot. so dont want to have to put it all back to then take out again when i need to get more parts to replace!
Thanks for your advice!

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF16070W1 or Indesit WIXE167?
forget about the above….based on reviews and feedback it looks like its worth going for a bosch, esp as they have 2 years warranty.
So its either:
WAE24363GB for £290 inc del
or
WAE2416S for £281 inc del
SO which one should I get?the only real differences are that one has a digital display which shows the remaining time, the other is able to do a half load.
anm i right?
