I had similar problem with Vision VHD8142. All programs started then stopped after wash part of cycle; with with Timer LED flashing 3 times and 1200 spin speed. This suggests drain out problem, but as others have pointed out can be heating element with earth leak sending false message to controller.
I knew the drain out was OK as you could switch off machine and start on rinse cycle which it did OK. Changed heater element (cost £23) and all works fine now.
