many thanks for replying so quickly. That explains why spare parts suppliers can’t help with the info I need!

My freezer is an upright not a chest, by the way. The universal handle you provided the link to is one of the ones I found on the internet but it’s not quite big enough (max screw distance 15 cm). Other bigger universal handles i’ve found have all been plastic.
