Hi all, sorry for delay in answering, fitted a new heater as suggested and all is well again, I can again have some clean clothes.!! Thanks to all who suggested the answer, very helpful.

Ran another test run,this is the result.
Put on 30 min wash, running ok up to 8 min; left, then stopped. E03 error
Switched it off and drained 700ml out, door still locked. switched on to spin, error E16 up, door still locked. Pulled out plug for 2 minutes, door unlocked.
plug in, switch on , put on spin 7. starts ok, turning slowly, pump working, down to 6, spin starts slowly, pump working,5 same 4 same, then jumps down to 1, stops. no 1600 spin, end. drained out further 250ml, that’s it.
As this did not need heater at all I am confused.?
