Yeah well okay, re-soldering didn’t work, but the new part did. Dishwasher has been working away for the last day or so. I forgot to take pictures as it fit it the morning after a wedding and my head was banging. I only started the job so I wouldn’t have to wash the dishes!. Part fit was not listed for the machine ( part ordered was 19.99 as opposed to 60+ for the Siemens part ). It seemed like an obvious fit from the pictures. Only difference was two poles instead of 4, but only two of the four were used on the original. They were the same manufacturer and the PN was 165261. My wife reckons I would have gotten a better response on an antiques forum!…take care all.

Okay pump is not open circuit, but I see the positive to the winding is blackened and only hanging by a thread. Must be heating and going open, very hard to photograph. When compared to the other side, it looks like the plastic has been cut back and the connection soldered…badly.

I might try to unwind a small piece and solder it back until I can get a replacement.
