Participantwell had this thing just over 3 years and the door lock has just failed again for a 3rd time. 3 doors locks in 3 years ?

Participantelectrofix wrote:well at about £3 off ebay + another resistor thats got to be worth a try
Dave
could do i`m just wondering is there something else wrong with it though. the replacment fusible resistor was bigger i think the old one was probably less value i put 10ohm 3w.
old one looks much smaller and i`m pretty sure its yellow violet gold gold now so maybe i should have bought a 470ohm either 2w or 1w resistor in the first place.

look up testing bridge rectifier online
Dave
cheers the rectifier seems ok but did notice this is burnt out now which i did not notice first time round. how ever the fuse still works so it seems when i switched it on that happened.
think i may look for a new board or new oven on ebay or something.

Participantelectrofix wrote:well did expect that but it puts you on a trail
did you check the rectifier ?
Dave
no not sure how or which one

Participantelectrofix wrote:Can’t see website seems to be down. As long as it’s fusible and about 3 watt should be fine. Resistance should be ok for the job.
if new one goes pop as soon as you turn on we will have to look deeper
I would also check the bridge rectifier to see if that’s short circuited
Dave
Hi
sadly the new one blew too 🙁

Participantelectrofix wrote:Resistor should not be hard. Would need the value off it and then rs components should have. It looks like a 3 watt fusible resistor and all we need is the value in ohms. Looks like it may be 47 ohms from the colors. Yellow purple
new board if available can be go here. https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/customer-service/spare-parts-search

cheers seems these are cement wire round fusing resistors. i have used the resistor calc
im reading right to left white violet then gold and gold. 9.7ohm tolerance 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}mrfixxer
Participantelectrofix wrote:should do to be honest if its a bit lower its no problem what we are trying to find out if its blown and then it will be thousands if not millions of ohms
Dave
where could a buy a replacement resistor from ? or even a new board

Participantelectrofix wrote:you would need to check each component with a meter. test depends on what that component is
start with the resistor and see if it reads
Dave
cheers
will that resistor show a true value through while attached to the board ?

Participantelectrofix wrote:would need to see more of the board
resistor is an inrush supressor and acts as a fuse. look like it should measure 47 ohms
this feeds a rectifier and the 2 caps i think which should be rated 400v. There will then be a chip to lower the voltage
Dave
Hi
what’s the best way to test for faulty component’s ?

are these cracks indicative of a duff resistor ?November 3, 2020 at 1:43 pm in reply to: whats the best integrated dishwasher to buy for for under 400 ? #465522mrfixxer

indeed
just bought it as stock is going AO had some yesterday now out of stock. £350 not bad with nextday delivery.
i`m surprised at the 5 year warranty for the price.November 3, 2020 at 10:55 am in reply to: whats the best integrated dishwasher to buy for for under 400 ? #465519mrfixxer

Like a lot of product at the moment there is no stock available anywhere. Spares are starting to get short in some areas as well.
You either place a back order email with Curry’s, see if anyone else has it or pick something else which is in stock. The only problem with the last option is it may be something you you don’t like, the stock situation is not going to improve before the end of March next year.
I’m going to start stocking and selling Marigold gloves

Don
yep
stock is not great, you can`t even ring up currys anymore !
this seems to be in stock though all over the place but seems slightly less good
less buttons so less features 🙂
