Re: Which wash machine for me?

Thanks for your prompt response, I’ve looked at both the models you recommend.

On the one hand money is tight (esp. having just bought the drier!) and I don’t want to pay for lots of features I don’t need so I am almost put off all the features on the ISE as I only ever used 2 programmes on my old machine. I only ever spun at 900 rpm on the old one and your survey on here shows that 800 is sufficient so I don’t need more. It also features quick washes when an article on this site said that quick washes don’t clean your clothes properly and I don’t think I would use them.

On the other hand I don’t want the false economy and hassle of going for the Bosch (whose features seem adequate to me) only to have it break down after the 2 year warranty and me thinking I should have listened to you!

So the question is, would the extra £170 I’d pay buy me a much longer lasting machine or is it to pay for fancy features I would never use? I really am a simple 40 degree wash kinda gal!

Re: Which Condenser Dryer to buy?

Thank you very much for your opinions. You are very kind. On my own I probably would have accepted the Bosch as it is generally known as a “good make” and a bargain at that price.

Just shows, nothing in the appliance world is as it seems!

I even found a different store that said they can get the Zanussi within 14 days so have cancelled the original store (who had the cheek to have taken payment for it!) and re-ordered the Zanussi from the different one.

    Thanks again,

    Mrs C

Re: Which Condenser Dryer to buy?

Sorry but I just need one more teeny piece of advice please.

After all that deliberation, the Zanussi ZDC67550W I have ordered is on a delay from the manufacturers of 4-6 weeks. The shop are offering me a Bosch WTE84103 (which is £20 dearer but they will let me have it for same price) now or I can wait for Zanussi or I can ask them for something else.

I once has a Bosch cooker and the parts were really expensive, that’s all i know about them!!

The Bosch model only takes 6kg and I wanted a 7kg, not sure how much difference that is. If you think the Zanussi is better I will wait (though inconvenient!) or if I am getting a bargain Bosch at a lower price I will take it. What would you all do?

    Many thanks in anticipation,

    Mrs C.

Re: Which Condenser Dryer to buy?

You chaps like your Zanussis then eh?

Thank you for that, I was leaning towards the other makes as thought more expensive meant better but I will go for the Zanussi. If you’re wrong and it breaks down I shall send for helo 75 to fix it as I am in Preston too! Ha ha.

    Thanks all of you.

Re: Which Condenser Dryer to buy?

…feel like I’ve spent most of the day reading customer reviews of tumble dryers, can’t believe there are so many models with similar code numbers!!

Thought I’d let you know (in case anyone else is in a similar position to me) what I have come up with.

Kwatt – sorry but fab as it looked the ise10 was just too expensive!

Don – Looking for Whirlpool and Zanussi like you said, I decided to go for 7kg load but there were still lots of different ones! Decided to go for a sensor one if poss too. These are my 3 contenders now

WHIRLPOOL: AW28577 BEST PRICE FOUND £263.99
scored 9.4 on customer review site

ZANUSSI: ZDC67550W BEST PRICE FOUND £229
scored 8.8 on customer review site. Have a few reservations from some of the comments

AEG: T56830: BEST PRICE FOUND £279
scored 9.1 on customer review site. Top rated dryers were all expensive
Miele ones a few Bosch and this, which stood out for being the cheapest of the higher rating ones.

Just need to check the sizes and which way the doors open as it has to go under worktop occupying same space as my old Creda.

If anyone knows of any lawful impediment why I shouldn’t buy any of the above please speak now or forever hold your peace! Many thanks.

Re: Which Condenser Dryer to buy?

Thanks to both for your advice. I’d read the article about products but I knew I want a condenser dryer anyway. The article about names has left me more confused than ever!

I know it’s common sense that the more you pay the more you get but I just wondered if there were any names to avoid and any where the parts are easier to get than others. Good to know that Creda are not what they were and I’ve always thought that Zanussi were a good make but now I find that everyone is owned by someone else!! I saw that Indesit had some really bad reviews which has put me off them.

I’ll go and search the market…
