Just an update. Used the machine since last post but now started to use the “delay start” button to set it to come on early in the morning. Used this button successfully until last week when it wouldn’t set on one of the programmes. Tonight I tried to set the delay again for the “jeans” programme – it would set but only for up to 8 hours when the booklet says that it should set for 20 hours. I switced off and tried the other programmes which will let me set for up to 20 hours!
Surely all these faults indicate that there is something wrong with the electronics of the machine?
Two months into ownership of a brand new machine and two call outs.

Well since the very nice service engineer came and pressed all the knobs and buttons randomly to force a noise the washing programmes have been behaving very oddly. On the eco (60)- the washing hardly got hot at all – suspect washed at 40 and not 60. Now doing a jeans wash(40) the temperature same as before but it began rinsing after an hours wash and it has rinsed and rinsed and rinsed………

Just to keep everyone up to date. The engineer came today and he couldn’t understand why it didn’t make any noise at all. He tried following the instructions to activate and deactivate with no success. He then decided that the only thing was to keep pressing all the knobs and programs to try and trigger some response. This did work after about 10 minutes and I got the relevant noises.(We think – but no tune). The poblem then was that they were not responsive to being switched off. He was totally bemused over the whole thing. In the end we agreed that he would now leave the noises on and he would email to try and find out more information from AEG/Electrolux and get back to me. He has assurred me that the washing cycles won’t be affected.

LOL – I am suspicious about why it doesn’t work and what else might not work and I don’t want to find out later that my warranty is not valid because I had ignored the problem. Got an engineer coming out Friday to tell me it doesn’t work. What he will do then is anybody’s guess.

Many thanks – don’t get any of that unless the “cheeps” can be be called “clicks”. No tunes at start or end and no long beeps. Oh dear!

Thanks for that.No buzzer – all I can hear is the faintest “click” or “cheep”(The sound which a smoke alarm makes as the battery runs flat). It is definately a series 6 from the pictures and I have tried pressing the two buttons for 5 seconds – hear the click but there remains no acoustic signal other than that click or cheep when buttons are pressed. DEfinately no tune or anything else at the start or end. Tried pressing the buttons again which should “deactivate” it but still get the same cheep.Certainly would not be able to hear the sound at all in the average kitchen.
