ParticipantRe: new Owner
At Hotpoint i think that the official line is that warranties are non transferable, however in practice if the new owner has the orig proof of purchase or the s/n on machine shows it is under 12mths it will be honoured.

Im not an engineer but the handbook for this model states that the drying light flashing can indicate end of cycle. You’ve probably tried this but have you turned the knob to reset before selecting a new cycle? Also, on some models the salt light will flash for a few cycles as a reminder so not usually cause for concern.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 5 Year parts warranty
Hi Alan,
she will get her parts warranty if s/n shows it is under 5yrs, if it shows just over then she will need proof of purchase. No change in policy. doesnt matter if registered or not.mrspapalaz

Mrs. Peterson phoned the repairman because her dishwasher quit working. He couldn’t accommodate her with an “after-hours” appointment and since she had to go to work, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll post you a cheque.
By the way, I have a large rotweiler inside named Killer; he won’t bother you. I also have a parrot, and whatever you do, do not talk to the bird!”Well, sure enough the dog, Killer, totally ignored the repairman, but the whole time he was there, the parrot cursed, yelled, screamed, and about drove him nuts.
As he was ready to leave, he couldn’t resist saying, “You stupid bird, why don’t you shut up!”
To which the bird replied, “Killer, get him!!!”

I dont have this model but my washer dryer takes in cold water during the dry cycle, I think this is normal. If clothes are coming out at end of dry cycle hot and wet it may be worth checking the installation has been done correctly, e.g if the machine is a cold fill only, the fill hose may be on the hot water pipe by mistake.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director
what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient
should be institutionalized.“Well,” said the Director, “we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or
her to empty the bathtub.”“Oh, I understand,” said the visitor. “A normal person would use
the bucket because it’s bigger than the spoon or the teacup”.“No.” said the Director, “A normal person would pull the plug

I work at one of the dreaded 0870 call centres. Im happy to take the time to advise the customer on how to use their new appliance, or book a repair visit, but I must admit the 15min calls just to negotiate the timing of their appointment gets me down!
Its sometimes not even enough to guarantee a same day, first call in the morning or a wkend call out.
I dont feel too sorry for myself tho….at least Im not the F.S.E. having to take the earbashing face to face…they must have the patience of a saint! 😉mrspapalaz
