Many thanks Bob! I borrowed small chest freezer from son and did as you said ie turned off with door open for 48 hours.

Turned it on yesterday lunchtime..no loud noise! I put a small bowl of water in..and it’s freezing. ….BUT…whenever I open the door…then close it..there is a really weird loud sound coming from the back…like cross between running water/ice and someone making loud ‘slurping’ sounds with a straw when they get to the bottom of the glass! I’ve not put any food back in yet as afraid it’ll suddenly stop working. Any idea what this noise is and how to rectify it??

😉 It was the corrugated ‘pipe’ that was blocked with goo! Many thanks to the guy that came out on Christmas Eve and repaired it for me! 😆

😉 MANY thanks Penguin! I’ll let you know how I get on! I thought I was looking at new machine 😯 – my Dyson hoover blew up yesterday and had to replace that!!
