Thanks, Bosch Classixx looks good, I’ll give one a go!
I’ve watched a video on YouTube of someone removing a bra wire from one and it was OK to take apart. From the video it looks like the Bosch Classixx is made by Vestel. Looking at the current Vestel brochure it seems as though the latest Bosch machines are also made by Vestel, the ones with BLDC motors are “Ecosilence”November 20, 2016 at 8:50 pm in reply to: 2nd hand machines with splitable tubs & brushless motors? #442983mzungu

Ok, sounds like recent Beko models get crossed off the list then…
Any recent(ish) makes that don’t have sealed drums?

Yeah, I know electronic spares for my ISE 5-2 and the motor just aren’t available. I think the Italian motor manufacturer went bust years ago. So it’s scrap if anything serious breaks – partly why I was looking for an alternative before they all have sealed tanks and bearing replacement is not possible.
I was mostly interested in the brushless motors because I’d read that really worn brushes could jam the motor and split the plastic tank. The guy that sold me the ISE seemed to think that the brushless motor was a plus point.
Some of the cheapo machines do seem to last quite well with careful use. Though I have a friend who seems to be able to destroy them every two years – I think she just does a lot of washing and overloads them or something.

No, I’m not a trader.
I was looking for a number of different suggestions, so I could choose a make and model to standardise on and then buy a couple to refurbish and pass on to friends and family when their 2 year old “disposable” machines die. I may eventually buy more than two if this strategy works… -
