    FIXED!

Turns out that those LEDs indicate motor inactivity. Took the motor out and had a look at the brushes – one shot the other low but ok, so replaced them and cleaned the armature.

    Re: Beko WM5140W Fault/Error Codes

    Hi Seamy,

Many thanks for the reply. Sorry for my poorly formed sentence 😕 What I meant to say is that when it “started suddenly”, I was describing the fault. It happened out-of-the-blue, it was not an intermittent fault: i.e. the machine just stopped one day.

The machine does not spin at all, even on self-test. When toggling through each of the tests, the ‘Prewash’ and ‘Quickwash’ LEDs illuminate after the second press of the ‘start/pause/cancel’ button. All LEDs flash after the first press, and nothing happens on the third or subsequent presses, but the Prewash’ and ‘Quickwash’ LEDs do go out.

I have read that these suffer commonly from brush failure, but I wanted to confirm that the LEDs status does indeed indicate a motor/drive problem before tearing things apart. I think I will have a look later this evening and see what I can find out. Is there any way to check the control easily if I can’t see anything obvious? I take it the motor ‘tacho’ is the speed sensor on the motor?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Niall
