Thanks for that. As I say I’ve worked on high voltage circuits both professionally and domestically even to the likes of replacing capacitors in valve guitar amplifiers, so safety is not a problem. Understanding how Smeg put the oven together would be helpful.

Thanks for that Dave. Sorry maybe my post is a little ambiguous. I’m not getting the hum that I usually get when running the microwave function so it appears the transformer isn’t energising.

Regarding safety, I’m fairly confident since I did my apprentice as an electrical technician so I won’t kill myself but I’m not familiar with how these ovens are put together, and I i’ve not done anything with microwave tech.
