Ordered direct from Liebherr, prompt delivery. Day after delivery the F2 error went away and hasn’t been seen since. Now don’t know whether to change the sensor or not.

Spoken to Ebac:

• All parts will be available at sensible prices but none required yet as all machines are still under warranty, early machines had a ten-year warranty. Any parts required in the meantime they will supply direct, just ask.
• Check-out availablilty and cost of parts for their dehumidifiers to get an idea of how washing machine spares will be.
• Hot-fill is an ‘Intelligent’ hot fill which mixes both hot and cold to get the required temperature.
• Service manual – not willing to sell me one at the moment as all repairs at the moment carried out by their warranty Engineers.

Sales Dept have a very distorted view of reality that is for sure! Trust no one which is why I keep what I have or would buy fairly cheap and treat it a disposable if I could not fix it – luckily for me I can.

Good suggestion. Have just checked parts availability and there don’t seem to be any parts listed for EBac washing machines anywhere, although on the other had there are plenty of reasonably priced parts for their dehumidifiers available. Perhaps if their washing machines have always had a seven-year warranty there are none old enough yet. Will call them tomorrow to ask.

Hisense are currently offering a 5 year warranty on selected machines but due to their crap website I can’t see which machines this applies to. Nor can I can what the terms and conditions of said warranty is.

Me thinks the EBac 8kg machine (with 1600 spin) is beginning to sound like the best option, at least that has a good 7 year warranty, hopefully.

Any thoughts about Asko, do they have parts easily available in the UK?

Thanks andyjawa for that very comprehensive list.

Of course the next question now is which of those brands listed have good spare part availability in the UK and at sensible prices?

Or to put the question differently, what brands of machine would an experienced Repair Technician consider buying for themselves in the UK at the moment?

Elsewhere I am being told that Samsung, LG, Vestel and Currys Logik machines have non-sealed drum units, any idea whether that is true or not.

Looks like either Ebac or Ebac then!
