This is exactly what i am using.

Was advised to remove salt completely (should be the same as water softening off) but that did not work either.

Re: Please recommend a slimline dishwasher.

    Hi again,

Resurrecting this thread because of poor performance of my new dishwasher.

Did not go for Siemens unfortunately as there was an unbeatable price match offer in DSG on Bosch SRS45E32GB for £267 with 2 years warranty (a whole £100 cheaper) so decided it is well worth it.

The thing is – even if it is much nicer looking/programming/etc. its performance is quite disappointing. I have watermarks on all plastics (not on glass) and my tea cups are not as clean as they used to be after a wash in my pre-1990 Hotpoint.

I have tried quite a few times now and it is definitely not a glitch – set it up at two water hardness levels (5 and 7), three rinse aid levels (3,5,6) (rinse aid is same as I used before – or Hotpoint rather worked fine without it), normal Tesco dishwasher salt. Same Fairy tablets i always use. Tried Intensive and Auto programmes and even with water softening off.

Bosch care people asked to screw the salt container tight and use different detergent- WTF?

Is it normal to have poorer results (i mean with all current energy/water saving features) or there is something wrong with this dishwasher? The difference is indeed quite noticeable. Can it be some ‘use this detergent’ scheme? It is really strange and disappointing.

    Please advice.

Thank you for your reply, Don.

I did not know about 5 years warranty offer from Siemens – definitely best b4b then.

And please can you tell me just how mad is using my old Hotpoint while it is earthing? I switch it on and off at the wall through surge protected extension just before/after every wash. Just how probable/rapid the catching fire thing is?

    Thanks again in advance.
