ParticipantRe: Neff Dishwasher not draining properly
Update on the problem. Took back off kitchen unit and spotted I had fitted a independent stand pipe with p trap when I fitted it 20 years ago.Took apart trap and found it more or less completely blocked. Cleaned it out thoroughly and reassembled. Checked water level after a wash and it was a few inches below the bottom of the inside machine. Gradually the water level rose until it was about an inch above the bottom of the inside of machine. Would I’ve right in saying that this could be the rubber non return flap mentioned. Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I agree the machine must be 20 years old but really did’nt want to replace it until we get a new Kitchen. Will check the stand pipe as it shares with the sink. The sink seems to drain ok. As I said the pump seems to really throw the water out but maybe the hose has blocked up again since I tried to clear it last week. Can you recommend the best way to clean it in situ as it looks a nightmare to remove as it is contained in an outer hose with electrical wires. There is a flapper type valve between the pump outlet and the waste pipe that looked ok, well it was in one piece and did’nt look perished. Could it be anything else do you think ? I don’t mind the cost of the pump just need convincing as the shaft had minimal play and spun up well.
Thanks

Many thanks for you quick reply. Hope the new one lasts longer. I have the choice of another Ego or a cheaper Maddocks brand. Is the Ego worth the extra? Cheers

Checked solenoid valve on bottom of Heat Exchanger. It was stuck in the closed position. Removed from machine and freed off valve releasing some rusty coloured deposits. Refitted and the machine works a treat. Probably would be wise to replace solenoid valve shortly would you think ?
Thanks for your help Penguin & Co.

Hello again,
Could the lack of pressure be a faulty inlet valve solenoid ?
The reading across it is 2.5k ohmns
When voltage is applied to it you can hear a humming sound but can see no action through the transparent casing.

I dont seem to be able to find the corrugated hose you described. The only one I can find is the combined fill/waste pipe coming out of the middle rear of the machine. I hope you dont mind but I have attached 3 photos of the front and left and right of the machine to an email
Many thanks
