ParticipantRe: Bosch WVD24520GB/01 does not spin
So just so we have some closure the brushes were worn right down to about 10mm about where the first set of numbers is written on them.
Machine is working perfectly, thanks guys.

Ok I’m going to take it apart again in a moment to check the brushes, is there anything else I should check whilst I have it in bits?

No that was the next thing I was going to check, to do this I really need to remove the motor right? It seems a pain to get to as only the top and front come off the machine not the sides or back. Would it be possible to tip it back/forwards and remove the motor from underneath?

Ok I have the lid off and I can see three what I assume to be electronic valves, two of them go to the detergent dispenser and the third one has a smaller tube which goes to a small white plastic box which has a larger tube coming out of it going to the condenser. Do I need to check the small tube at the end that connects to the valve to see if there is anything inside it?

Hi,
Thanks for that :), is this something I can check or sort out myself or does the valve need replacing?
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Spec me a new washer dryer
Thanks for all the help guys, I live in a small 2 bed house and there is no storage spare space at all,
Can you not find room for a little 3KG dryewr anywhere,in a cupboard/on a worktop?
Is that a condenser? What make model, I have a really small worktop space above the washer on a worktop at the moment this may be some kind of option.
My WD865A was repaired today and I am really going to get shot of it, the engineer suggested bosch lol, but I would consider options for anything seperate providing I can fit it in somewhere.

Cheers everybody for your help, I located the sump filter (in a black connector type thing) and indeed it was full of fluff and £1.75 in loose change, it was completetly blocked.
Cleaned it all out put it back together and started it going, my heart sank as a H20 error appeared, then I turned the water back on 😆
All is good
Thanks again guys

please be advise that this Brand will go into spin full of water, and water will come out of every Orifice possible tub seal, soap drawer etc.
Yes thats exactly what its doing, I assume its not any of the electronics as it has been given a clean bill of health by the hotpoint engineers on the last 5 heater box changes.
This filter is it obvious in its location I mean if i just follow the waste hose I should find it that way right?
I have just disconnected it at the mains and plan to have a look shortly, do I just need to pull it out and remove the small access covers on the back (sorry working from memory here) and find the sump filter or do I need to remove a larger cover. I’m sure its just this filter as its never been cleaned out before and I’m determined not to waste any money on this machine and just get some decent usage out of it.
Thanks for the replies so far, I just check all the other threads but I could see much about the exact location of the sump filter.
Cheers chaps

Peter

ParticipantRe: Almost had it with Hotpoint Ultima 865
what you could do by the way is to play the ‘Not of merchantable quality’ card?
Yes I had thought of this option, to be honest its not that I dont want the thing to work I have given it every opportunity I really dont want to have to go out of my way any further than I already have.
Anybody know if Hotpoint/Indesit have been on watchdog recently, I would be up for a bit of corporate bitch slapping, its not something I really believe in and I think its quite sad when its the only way to get a manufacturer to stand up and take notice.

LOL, well I’m somewhat in agreement, me & the mrs got it when we bought our fist place she bought it without putting too much research and went for the well its £400 so it must be good (oh and it matches our hotpoint frideg/freezer which I’m pleased to say has never had a problem).
When I told one of the engineers we didnt have an exteneded warranty I thought I caught him shedding a tear.
I think one of the repairs I paid for but after that every time I have them out they just change a heater box or two and thats it. The main thing is it leaves us out of action until we can get an engineer out. Like today for instance its got all my work clothes sat in it. From my sums they must be taking a loss on it after all the parts i have had from them. I believe I have been pretty reasonable about it, I’m always willing to assume I am doing something wrong before blaming the hardware but I really do think the thing is a crock.
Why do companies put out such carp?
Anyways I think I have learnt my lesson and will be coming here for advice on any future purchases.
Thanks Guys
Think I will give Hotpoint the hairdryer treatment on monday.
