    Problem fixed!
    It seems I was wrong, the burned out, melted part was not a relay but actually the mains connector to the PCB board. I simply soldered mains wires direct to board.
    Anyone know what could have caused the plug to melt?

    PCB works fine, I’ve checked several cycles. So I was thinking of wiring to an external relay 10 or 12A 12v switching. What do you think?

    You’re spot on…thanks!..Guess I’ll look at the user manual first from now on before jumping to conclusions.
