I realise there is a bit of straw clutching here but time is against me and it would suit if I could pick one up today.

As has been said on many occasions before look at the date of the last post before posting a reply.

Yes, indeed. The rationale is still relevent though, but point taken.

You are all aware that the HSE can impose a penalty of £2500 per day for being uninsured or insured with an unauthorised agent. A £1000 penalty may also be incurred for failure to display the certificate, copies of the cert should be displayed in all offices and areas where staff work.Since 1998 the certs should be kept for a period of 40 years (iirc).

You should be aware that if you treat some employees more/less favourably than others, a disgruntled employee may have grounds to prosecute a grievance and ultimately progress a complaint to an employment tribunal. Better to treat everyone in a fair, consistant and equal manner.
If an individual is abusing sickness absence then look at that seperately but again in a fair and consistant manner.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll get back to you re this, most likely at some point early next week. Working on the assumption it is a TFG14, how much will an element and pair of door hinges come to? Thanks.

Right, i’ve just popped round and had a look – no rating plate or identifiable details on the unit. The old girl produces a handbook for the matching hob which was a packaged deal from B&Q,shes pretty certain there was no other documentation so the only model number i can find is TFO14, does that ring any bells?

Alex, thanks for your offer however on closer inspection, the dark red contact housing can be opened giving access to the contacts. One set were sticking thus not being made.I’ve cleaned the contact faces and sprayed with switch cleaner so hopfully when i reassemble all will be well. Thanks once again.Regards.
