Hi,
No, no sign of any dampness, wetness or staining to the PCB. It looked identical to the replacement. The symptoms were exactly the same with either board. I thought it was worth a gamble to change it, but it didn’t pay off.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. It’s a strange one, as the freezer certainly isn’t getting too warm. Any time I check the thermometer, I get between -18 and -22 degrees. That’s with the thermometer hanging in mid air rather than in amongst the food. It’s really just an annoyance that the alarm keeps bleeping when it doesn’t need to. I was hoping someone might have been able to suggest an easy fix, but no worries, thanks anyway. I appreciate your time.

Just a bit of an update on this in case anyone might be able to help…
I tried a second hand replacement control board, but symptoms are still the same. However, I do now have a green light on permanently, so it looks like that was unrelated and just a dead LED.
I’ve monitored the symptoms more closely and here’s what happens:
The red light comes on steady and the compressor starts at the same time.
About 30 seconds later, the alarm starts bleeping.
This happens for about 1 minute.
Then the alarm stops and the red light goes out.
The compressor continues to run for a few minutes after the alarm and red light have stopped.
Once the compressor has stopped, it only ever comes on again when the red light comes on some 40 minutes later. So, it seems the compressor will not start under normal conditions. Only when the freezer thinks it is in an emergency ‘too warm’ situation.
The temp inside seems nice and cold, but the freezer is obviouly not behaving quite as it should.
This is an integrated CDA CW783/LH model freezer.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Owen
