Thanks for the advice about accessing the non-return valve. I hadn’t got as far as removing the sump and in fact removing the sump hose was surprisingly easy. Poking around with a finger and peering with a torch didn’t show any no sign of blockage or debris. I know it drains some water before stopping, so if there is a blockage in the hose, it’s only partial. And there’s no sign of a blockage in the external part of the hose.

Thanks. Not obvious the valve is even there. From a quick look, seems like you have to remove the sump to get access. Here goes…
