Hi Thank you for the response.
So apart from very slight discolouration on one of the wires where it gets close to the burner above, there is no signs of arching or burning on the switch that controlls the main oven. I have used a meter to determine that the switch appears to be functioning as it should.

I have checked the wiring connector for the main oven at the back of the cooker just under the hob and that shows no signs of burning or arcing.

Very confused
