    Re: Dyson DC07 FIRE!

most things made these days are disposable.
i shall be breaking into the hoover at a later date to inspect the motor to see if it had some kind of cut out.
the dc07 was blocked and did need filters and cyclone unit was blocked too. i clean out cyclones with compressed air havent had one beat me yet. “until now”
anyway the cleaner in question was cleaned out new filters cleaned out cyclone unit and ran from cold. not even on a carpet but on the shop tiled floor 😯 so no strain at all on the motor. but still it decides to go bang and up in flames with no time to dive for the plug. hadto chuck the cleaner out of shop unplug then throw water over it.

    Re: dc 07 FIRE!

worrying thing is customer said there dc07 worked fine the day before but not picking up. now its gone up in flames ?
still not shure what to tell the customer about his cleaner.
dyson dont want to know due to the cleaner being over 5 years old 😯
worrying thing is this cleaner actualy went up in flames and we hadto chuck kettle of water over it after throwing it out of the shop.
imagine if that was in somebodys house ?

Re: Why “pull the plug” ?

that all depends on how well grounded you are.
if you got a hand on a metal case and one on a live bit you will find you got no chance of pulling away. but if you get a shock on one hand and outher hand is well away from earthed case or well insulated from ground the power cant travel through you very well to ground. this is why if im using a multimeter or working live i make shure my outher arm is away from earthed case and make shure i got feet on floor with good rubber soled shoes on, only thing i hate is when i work live i tend to sweat as i know one slip up is all it takes to end your life.

chap who owns it and runs the shop is the kind of person who loves money. you should see his face when i try to chuck faulty kettles away.

you dont get many chances working live !
plus many of these kitchen now have walls coverd in spurs and sockets and trying to find what to turn off is tricky at times.
i have been caught off gaurd once swapping a washing machine and turned off what i thought was spur for washing machine. opps :zap:
but i had good shoes on and a friend with me to turn off correct spur

    Re: fridge wiring diagrams

weird thing is stats were swopped wire for wire no changes were made to wiring but heater seems to run if compressor is on or not even when we disconnected a wire off stat we thought ran the heater when compressor shuts down. can definatley feal the heater working. got a chap comming tommorow to check gas levels and compressor but im unsure on what stat this fridge should have as we just used what we could find in the shop to get it running again 😉
