    thanks for your help – what I’m going to do is drill into one of the halves, fill it with an epoxy glue and insert the shaft into the hole hoping it’ll cure solid enough to hold. After all, it only needs to turn, no massive force or pull is applied. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll have to go for the whole panel. Thanks for the ideas. cheers.

    what about CT-1. That’s pretty strong, but not sure it’ll take the heat. Any thoughts?

    Hi – thanks for looking into it – yes, that’s the correct unit – thanks a million!!

    thing is, having to purchase the whole unit just for the knob shaft feels a bit overkill.

    Perhaps we can go about it another way.

    I do have the broken pieces – the shaft snapped in two courtesy of my adorable son – I tried a melt-the-plastic approach to putting it back together with no luck… perhaps because it is not plastic. It actually carbonised the thing.

    Can you recommend an adhesive that will hold the two parts together and that is heat resistant?
