    One x metal cased replacement capacitor fitted, pushed the button closed the door and the delightfull sound of pressurised water once again.

    Hi thanks for your reply
    I removed the main pump/motor to check that it would turn freely, which it did, in doing so I noticed that what I pressume is the capacitor on the side of it with feeds going to it, had a blob of melted plastic on one side of it,this was about the size of pea ! I take it this isn’t right ? Is this the suppressor you were talking about ?.
    Put it back together & started cycle again and the noise seemed to becoming from that area & also the motor wasn’t turning but was getting hot to the touch !
    Does this suggest to you the capacitor & or motor could be at fault ?
